Tess is from the Philippines and her educational background is in Library and Information Science. She moved to Northern California in 2003 and began her career in the social services field as a Direct Support Professional. While working as a DSP she continued her education taking several classes on Medical Terminology and Medical Assisting to improve her job skills. Her effort was rewarded when she was promoted to an administrative position in a residential setting serving six behaviorally complex residents. She broadened her experience by being a Job Coach and Program Instructor in a recreational day program for two years. Tess began a new career in the hospitality business. She worked as a full time Night Auditor for a prominent Hotel in Fremont. While she enjoyed working in hospitality, her passion for human services beckoned her back. She was excited when she learned about a new community care organization that had a mission and vision that matched her desire to be part of a special care giving team. Tess is proud to be a part of the Alegria team since 2008, a team that continuously achieves the true meaning of Human Services.
