Ashton is an east coast native, living many years in Pennsylvania before moving back to her birth state of Florida to study at the University of Miami, where she obtained her Bachelors of Science in Nursing.  Ashton has been a competitive soccer player for the better part of her life, playing for the University of Miami and the Eastern Pennsylvania Olympic Development teams.  She also enjoys participating in CrossFit and Mud Runs.  She began her nursing career as an RN Supervisor at a Skilled Nursing Facility specializing in Alzheimers/Dementia, long term & short term rehab care, and hospice where she learned her true abilities of compassionate care and the importance of holistic treatment.  In early 2011, Ashton decided to expand her horizons and migrate to the west coast where she found her purpose and meaning with Alegria – the overall philosophy aligned with her ideals of self-actualization and provides constant opportunity to learn and grow with the residents as they adjust and thrive in community living.  Ashton is very passionate about her work with Alegria and plans to further her education by obtaining her Master’s degree and continuing to support and enhance the lives of those with developmental disabilities.
